Confidential Document Destruction
REACH Shredding provides secure document destruction services to over 250 businesses and residents in Juneau and throughout southeast Alaska. REACH Shredding is a member of NAID (The National Association for Information Destruction) and meets all security requirements for secure document handling and destruction.
Shredding is done in a secure facility equipped with round-the-clock video surveillance, an alarm system, and motion detectors. Only authorized personnel have access to the facility and only with proper uniform and photo identification. Document destruction meets HIPAA and FACTA privacy requirements.

A Certificate of Destruction is provided to the documents’ owner on job completion. All materials are shredded in Juneau using high-powered industrial shredders. The shredded material is subsequently recycled.
REACH Shredding provides secure containers in four different sizes. For new clients, containers are provided free for the first two weeks.
REACH Shredding is an entry level job training site within REACH’s Supported Employment Program. REACH Shredding builds personal confidence and teaches employees the basic job skills needed to be successful within competitive employment. Participants are responsible for virtually every step of the document destruction process including:
- Community pickups
- Sorting material
- Shredding material, and
- Recycling all shredded material
REACH Shredding employees begin by working just a few hours a week. As his/her skills and capacity grow, each person aspires to achieve a 20-hour work week.
